Why choose Dr.Google Pain Clinic
Treating shingles as nerve pain
Shingles isn’t just a skin problem — the virus damages the nerves. If you still have stinging, burning, or pain when clothes touch the skin after the blisters fade, it needs to be treated as nerve pain; depending on the affected area, ophthalmology or ENT is involved when needed.
Disc herniation: first see if surgery can be avoided
Assessed based on MRI, symptoms and any loss of muscle strength. Without progressive paralysis, non-surgical treatment such as injections can be considered first; if you’ve already been told you need surgery, you can come hear about other options.
Precise injections under C-arm imaging
C-arm imaging confirms the nerve and treatment site, and ultra-fine MTS micro-needles reach the pain source with less tissue damage, with no need for additional physical therapy.
Patients from afar can rest in a ward
There is a day ward (6+ hours) so you can rest after treatment and return to your accommodation the same day; a 24-hour stay is also possible if ongoing observation is needed.
These symptoms may be nerve-related
- Shingles (Postherpetic neuralgia): Pain remains after the blisters fade, stinging or burning, pain that keeps you up at night
- Lumbar disc herniation (Radiating pain in the lower back・buttocks・legs): Pain spreading from the lower back to the buttocks and legs, worse when sitting long or coughing, weakness in ankles or toes
- Cervical disc herniation (Numbness in the neck・shoulder・arm): Neck and shoulder aches, pain along the inner shoulder blade, numb arms or fingers, dropping things easily
Finger numbness can also come from carpal tunnel syndrome or elbow nerve problems; a doctor’s examination is needed to tell them apart.

FAQ
Does a herniated disc always need surgery?
Not necessarily. Without progressive paralysis or loss of bladder or bowel control, non-surgical treatment can usually be considered first; the actual approach depends on MRI and symptoms.
My blisters have healed but it still hurts. Can it be treated?
Yes. Pain that persists after the blisters fade is usually postherpetic neuralgia and needs to be treated as nerve pain. We recommend seeing a doctor as early as possible.
Can I fly right after treatment?
Most people can walk normally on the day of treatment, but please confirm your flight timing with the doctor first.
How do I get there from Seoul?
Take subway Line 4 to Beomgye Station, then walk about 5 minutes; parking is available in the building.
